Due Process Rights
The Perry County Board of Developmental Disabilities (PCBDD) is committed to ensuring that individuals and families are treated fairly and have access to processes that protect their rights.
Administrative Resolution of Complaints
If you have a concern about services or support, we encourage you to first discuss it with your Service and Support Administrator (SSA) or another PCBDD staff member. Many issues can be resolved through open communication and collaboration.
If a concern cannot be resolved informally, individuals receiving services through PCBDD have the right to use the Administrative Resolution of Complaints process, a formal procedure designed to address disagreements fairly and promptly. This process does not apply to Medicaid-funded services.
Medicaid Fair Hearing and Due Process Rights
Individuals enrolled in a Medicaid waiver program, or those on a waiver waiting list, have the right to appeal decisions regarding their services. A hearing may be requested when services are:
- Denied
- Reduced
- Terminated
- Delayed
- Approved
The hearing process is administered by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). Individuals, guardians, or authorized representatives may request a hearing and may seek support from family members, advocates, legal counsel, or their SSA throughout the process.
Questions or Assistance
If you have questions about your rights, filing a complaint, or requesting a Medicaid State Hearing, please contact your SSA or the Perry County Board of Developmental Disabilities. We are committed to protecting the rights, dignity, and choices of every person we support.
