As we know, weather isn’t restricted to the dead of winter. Certain conditions, such as snow, ice, fog, extreme temperatures and, of course, heavy wind, may make it impossible for Individuals to arrive at their service program(s). Since transportation services are not provided by PCBDD, all programs will operate on the usual schedule. In addition, you can watch or listen to the following broadcast stations about county roadways and issued levels –

Due to severe weather conditions or unique situations such as utility or health emergencies, the superintendent or designee may modify scheduled hours or authorize an emergency closing for all or part of the program.  During calamity time, employees will follow specific procedures that relate to their individual positions and responsibilities and may be required to work with no additional compensation or compensatory time.

All programs and facilities of the Perry County Board of DD (including, PerCo and Creative Opportunities) will typically remain open, despite severe weather.
The only time PCBDD facilities will be closed is in the event of a Level 3 weather emergency or other major utility or health emergency.

The decision to close is at the discretion of the Superintendent, or designee. Agency closings will be communicated through the PCBDD Mass Call System, on the PCBDD website, and the PCBDD’s Facebook page.
